What is cacao paste?
Pure cacao paste, also known as cacao liquor or cacao mass, is the result of grinding roasted cacao beans into a smooth paste — fluid when hot and solid at room temperature. At Fundo Maranatha we make our natural cacao paste from our own San Martín cacao, without adding any extra ingredient: pure 100% cacao only.
Being 100% sugar-free cacao, it has an intense and slightly bitter flavor. It is the perfect base for those who want to make artisan chocolate at home controlling every ingredient: sugar, milk, vanilla. It is also used directly in baking, hot cacao drinks and healthy recipes.
